1337 TACTICAL / BUILDING SINCE 2006
THE UZI GUY.
HELPING
KITTIES.
I’m Matt. I’ve been building since 2006, and I donate a portion of the proceeds from my work to people helping animals. Mostly cats. Definitely a soft spot for cats.
Meet the guy behind it ↓KITTIES.

01 / THE SPECIALTY
Yeah, I’m
the Uzi guy.
It started with AKs.
The Uzis took over.
I started building guns in 2006 with AKs. Somewhere along the way, Uzis became my thing. If you know me as “the Uzi guy,” you’re in the right place.
My experience also includes CETMEs, CETME LCs, Stens, and other sheet-metal platforms. I like the history and the character—especially the worn-in look that makes an old gun feel like an old gun.
02 / AT THE WORKBENCH
The work.
Parts-kit roots.
An eye for the finish.
Build services
AKs were my starting point in 2006. Uzis became my main focus, with CETMEs, CETME LCs, Stens, and other sheet-metal platforms along the way.
PARTS-KIT CRAFTSMANSHIPParkerizing
Parkerizing is a big part of what I do. I have a particular soft spot for classic finishes and the worn-in character of original parts.
TRADITIONAL FINISH / CLASSIC CHARACTERCerakote
There’s room for color here, too. Cerakote and refinishing are another side of my work, alongside the traditional finishes I love.
COLOR / FINISH / CHARACTERGunsmithing
Years at the bench, a lot of time with Uzis, and a lasting interest in how classic platforms fit together. That’s the experience behind my gunsmithing work.

04 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE BENCH
Guns. Cats.
And a whole lot
of curiosity.

“I’ve been building guns since 2006, starting with AKs.”
I’m Matt Weiss, the owner of 1337 Tactical in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This shop grew out of something I’ve enjoyed doing since 2006: spending time at the bench and working with classic guns.
Uzis get most of the attention around here, but my interests go well beyond one platform. Parts-kit builds, parkerizing, Cerakote, and gunsmithing are all part of the picture.
That pretty much explains this ↓A FEW FACES BEHIND THE SOFT SPOT
Meet a few of my fosters.
These are a few cats I’ve personally fostered. Small paws. Big personalities.

A guy who builds.
And gives back.
Proud to support shelters, fosters, and the people helping animals.
Especially the ones with whiskers and an attitude.
